Voter's Guide: May 18, 2021 (Special Election)

#LibertyDay

May 18th is Primary Day in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is a “Closed Primary” state, which means that only registered republicans and democrats may vote for candidates in their respective parties.  Because of this rule, many registered voters falsely believe that they are unable to vote on this day.  However, Primary Day is often when special elections and referendums are voted on.

This May 18th all registered voters in PA, regardless of party affiliation, can vote on the referendums to limit the Governor's emergency powers to 21 days, unless extended by legislative vote.

I encourage you to vote yes on:

  • Emergency Declarations Amendment
  • Legislative Resolution to Extend or Terminate Emergency Declaration Amendment
  • Amendment for Equal Rights Regardless of Race or Ethnicity
