General Meetings on the third Friday of each month are at 7:00PM. The Barrett Township Historical Society would like to announce that they now have available for sale their annual Calendar.  The price of the calendars is $6.00.  They can be purchased at Theo. B. Price Country Store ~ Route 390 in Cresco or the Barrett Paradise Friendly Library ~ also located on Route 390 in Cresco.
The Barrett Township Maintenance Department is staffed by five full-time employees and five part-time employees.  The members of the Maintenance Department routinely tend to the Township's maintenance needs, whether it be changing the oil in a police car, plowing a snow-covered road, or fixing a pothole. In 2014, the Buck Hill Conservation Foundation and the Buck Hill Falls Company jointly hired a forester to prepare a forest management plan for 4,330 acres of Buck Hill Falls, including Chestnut Mountain. The study by Green Leaf Consulting provides a comprehensive assessment of the property and lists recommendations for the conservation and restoration of the forest. The Cresco Station Museum houses displays, artifacts and research material indigenous to the Barrett Township area, sponsors art shows the second Sunday of each month from 1-4 pm, and holds musical programs the fourth Sunday (June to September) from 1-4 pm.
