Head-On Collision on Rt 191 Near Cresco Post Office

Barrett Township, PA (November 1, 2024) – In the early hours of Thursday morning, emergency responders were alerted to a serious two-vehicle head-on collision along Route 191 in front of the Cresco Post Office. The incident occurred around 12:17 a.m., with initial reports indicating possible entrapment and serious injuries. Medevac was placed on standby as police and EMS units from Station 22 and EMS 1123 mobilized quickly to the scene.

Upon arrival at approximately 12:25 a.m., responders determined that there was no entrapment, though two occupants sustained injuries. EMS identified one patient with a wrist injury and another with a potentially fractured leg. The medical helicopter was subsequently stood down at 12:42 a.m. as both patients’ injuries were assessed as manageable for ground transport. EMS confirmed the transport of the injured individuals to a local hospital for further treatment at around 1:11 a.m.

Traffic along Route 191 was impacted during the response, and Auto In Motion units were requested to assist in managing the scene. Police are investigating the crash circumstances to understand the factors that led to the collision.
