BARRETT TWP., Pa. -- Police in the Poconos are trying to identify a man they say tried to steal money from a bank account.

He provided ID, but the teller and bank manager couldn't identify him as one of the account holders, so his withdrawal was denied, police said.

He left before police were notified.

Further investigation showed he had also forged a signature on the withdrawal slip, and the account holder confirmed the attempted theft, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Pocono Mountain Regional police at 570-895-2400.
