Benjamin Stitt, 33, of Cresco charged with attempted homicide for shooting vehicle

A Cresco man has been charged with attempted homicide following a shooting in Price Township on Friday evening.

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed troopers from their Stroudsburg station responded to reports of a shooting at Clarks Road near the intersection of Creek Road in Price Township, Monroe County at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Dec. 2. According to one victim from Staten Island, his vehicle was shot at multiple times by an unknown actor.

While PSP was en route to the victim's location, Benjamin Stitt, 33, of Cresco, arrived at PSP's Stroudsburg station to report the shooting, which he claimed he was involved in.

Police initiated an investigation and began conducting interviews, with multiple shell cases recovered from the roadway and the victim's vehicle, which sustained bullet holes.

 

Based on the investigation and interviews, the Monroe County District Attorney's Office has approved attempted homicide and related charges against Stitt.
