PUBLIC NOTICE INTENTION TO ENACT PROPOSED ORDINANCE The Board of Supervisors of Barrett Township hereby gives public notice of its intention to enact the ordinance summarized below at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors to be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at the Barrett Township Municipal Building, 993 Route 390, Cresco, Pennsylvania 18326. At the meeting, the Board will listen to comments by members of the public concerning the proposed ordinance. If substantial amendments are not offered to the draft of the proposed ordinance, the Board intends to consider enactment of the proposed ordinance immediately following receipt of public comment. The proposed ordinance is entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BARRETT, MONROE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AUTHORIZING THE ENTRY INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, BARRETT TOWNSHIP AND MOUNT POCONO BOROUGH TITLED AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT ON POCONO MOUNTAIN REGIONAL POLICE FOR ADDITIONAL REVISIONS. The following is a brief summary of all of the provisions of the proposed ordinance. Section 1 approves the Amended and Restated Agreement on Pocono Mountain Regional Police and authorizes appropriate Township officials to execute and deliver the Agreement on behalf of Barrett Township; Section 2 provides for the authorized persons to take all further actions necessary to adopt this ordinance and give effect to the Agreement; Section 3 contains a severability clause; Section 4 contains a repealer clause; and, Section 5 provides that the ordinance will be effective as provided by law. The full text of the proposed ordinance is on file for inspection and review without charge (or a copy may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof) at Barrett Township's offices at 993 Route 390, Cresco, Pennsylvania 18326. A complete copy of the proposed ordinance also has been provided to and may be reviewed at the Pocono Record and the Monroe County Law Library.
