Shirley resided in the Poconos for many years until she moved to New Jersey in 1986. During that time, she held various jobs. She retired from Mary Kay Cosmetics in Somerset, NJ. She eventually moved to NYS to be closer to her daughter.
She was a member of the Canadensis United Methodist Church in PA. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Rummy, doing crossword puzzles. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Monopoly with her grandchildren when they were young. She also loved going to the casino especially on her birthday. Shirley loved animals and over the years had several Shelties.
She married Carl Seal, together they had a daughter before the marriage ended in divorce.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Carla (Seal) Sobotka, Whiting, Maine; a grandson and his companion, Charles Sobotka IV and Brittney Russell, of Lake Worth, FL a; a granddaughter and her husband, Cristy and Matthew Vaughn, Ellisburg, NY; 5great grandchildren, Chloe Sobotka, Charles Sobotka V, Haily Fleming, Hunter Fleming, and Christopher Vaughn.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. It was her wish to be cremated and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no funeral service, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
