Born on January 29, 1933 at Rosenkrans Hospital in East Stroudsburg, he was the only child of the late Irvin G. Mick, Jr. and Edna (Evans) Mick Wilson. He was a graduate of Barrett High School and attended Churchman's Business School in Easton until being drafted to serve in the U.S. Army.
Don succeeded his father in becoming the third generation owner and operator of the family business, Mick Motors in Cresco of which he and his wife operated for many years along with Mick's Tavern and Mick's Taxi Service.
In 1970 he joined the Barrett Township Volunteer Fire Company of which he was an active member for many years, served three terms as chief, and held many other offices. Don also served as president and board member of Oakland Cemetery for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Jim Mick and wife Michaele and Rich Mick all of Cresco; a granddaughter, Morgan Mick and her mother Denise; and his extended family, the family of the late John and Madelyn Leonard.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with viewing beginning at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at noon with Rev. Dr. Sherrie Sneed officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to Barrett Township Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 1, Buck Hill Falls, PA 18323.
