John "Jack" Joseph Sherwood, 84, of Cresco, PA, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital-Monroe Campus. He was the loving husband of Brenda (Coffman) Sherwood, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born September 16, 1940, in Dover, NJ, Jack was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Tierney) Sherwood.
Jack retired in 2001 after 40+ years of combined service with Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, and Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Sherwood; his aunt, Irene Tierney; sister, Suzanne Adams; brother-in law and sister-in-law, Bill and Barbara Coffman; sister-in-law, Joyce Coffman, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Sevret; brothers, Joseph Sherwood and Paul Sherwood.
Visitation will be held from 9:30A.M. to 11:00A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00A.M. at The Most Holy Trinity Parish, Route 390, Cresco, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
